Dear UPS Store Owner,
We are submitting our child __________________________ to the Make A Child
Smile Organization,
a non-profit website at www.makeachildsmile.org. Our child is __
years old and has a diagnosis of _____________________________.
Make A Child Smile's (MACS) mission has been to support children with
chronic or life-threatening illnesses and their families, by creating and
maintaining a website that allows website visitors to read about the children
and then send cards and small gifts to brighten their days.
Each month, new children are featured. A picture and biography describing
the child and information about their family is published on the website,
giving website visitors the opportunity to learn about the kids and their
illnesses. Hundreds of 'net surfers, schools, service organizations,
girls/boys scouts and church groups use the MACS website as a philanthropy
project, sending cards and special gifts to featured children each month.
The Make A Child Smile Organization requires that parents who submit their
child to be featured, rent a mailbox. They cannot list a home address for
the child to receive mail due to privacy, safety and legal reasons.
The Make A Child Smile Organization encourages parents to contact their
local UPS Store and ask if a mailbox can be donated for a couple of months
because they have had enormous success in the past with several MBE/UPS
Stores around the US donating mailboxes to featured kids. Here's a list of a
few:
Ron Purkey, owner of The UPS Store #1603 in Riverside, CA
Pat Chidley, owner of The UPS Store #250 in Chula Vista, CA
Scott Eaton, owner of The UPS Store #2391 in Canton, CT
Don Beck, owner of The UPS Store #4293 in Grayson, GA
Ted Guevara, owner of The UPS Store #1974 in Indianapolis, IN
Ed Binanay, owner of The UPS Store #3938 in Raleigh, NC
John and Susan Zach, owners of The UPS Store #1332 in Tonawanda, NY
Bill and Kay Thomas, owners of The UPS Store #2268 in Bentonville, AR
Larry Solomon, owner of The UPS Store #288 in Hollywood, FL
Jim Witthar, owner of The UPS Store #988 in Waldorf, MD
To view a list of all MBE/UPS Stores that have donated mailboxes to our
kids, please look for the "Thank You's" link on the right side menu of the
MACS website (www.makeachildsmile.org)
The Make A Child Smile Organization deeply appreciates your donation by
listing the UPS Store Owner's name, store # and location right below the
featured child's mailbox address on the website.
Children featured on the website receive a LOT of cards and gifts during the
first 60 days of being featured. After that, the mail slows down a bit.
Please contact me at (____) ____-________ if
your store can provide a mailbox free of charge to our child. We appreciate
your kindness.
"A Donation is a Loan... and God is the one who will pay you back."
Thank you,
